Understand how Version 2.1 connector configurations works in QBank

We have updated how the version 2.1 of our connector configurations works in QBank. The update gives you better flexibility in how you configure the connector for your users.

Overview

QBank’s V2.1 connectors provide better flexibility and control over how assets are made available across different channels. With the new version, you can customize settings per connector, ensuring that each integration is optimized for its specific use case.

Currently, V2.1 applies to:

  • Office 365 Connector – Making assets accessible within Office applications
  • Browser Connector – Providing easy access to assets for web-based workflows

This means that even if you use only one of these connectors, you have full control over what assets are available and how they are structured.

Key benefits of V2.1 connectors

Custom settings per connector

With V2.1, you no longer have to apply the same rules across all connectors. Each connector can have its own settings, ensuring the right assets are available in the right places.

For example:

  • The Office 365 Connector can provide presentation-ready images for internal teams.
  • The Browser Connector can allow marketing teams to access brand assets for content creation.

Team-based access control

V 2.1 allows you to define asset availability based on groups, meaning different user groups can access different sets of assets.

Example use cases:

  • Marketing Team → Access to campaign materials
  • Product Team → Access to product images and specifications
  • Project Teams → Access to project-specific assets

This ensures that users only see the assets relevant to their work, improving efficiency and security.

Smarter asset distribution

With V2.1, you have full control over which assets are available to different user groups, ensuring that each team only sees the content relevant to their needs.

You can:

✔ Define asset availability per team
✔ Set up targets (topics) to organize content
✔ Control visibility so each group accesses only what they need

Example:

  • When a Marketing team member uses the connector, they see Marketing Materials and Product Images.
  • When a Product team member accesses the connector, they see Product Images and Technical Documents.

This targeted approach streamlines workflows and ensures users quickly find the right assets without unnecessary distractions.
