2. Browser Connector – Installation Guide

The Browser Connector integrates QBank directly into your browser environment. Follow these steps to install and activate the extension for Chrome or Edge.

Why add QBank to your browser?

With the QBank Browser Connector, you can bring your brand-approved assets directly into your everyday workflow - no need to switch tabs or download files.
Once installed, you’ll be able to:

  • Search and filter for assets in QBank

  • Browse through folders

  • Select an asset and choose format

  • Drag and drop on to the browser interface

  • Copy link to the published files

  • Report usage to QBank

 Installation Options

You can install the QBank Browser Connector in two ways  either directly from the Chrome Web Store, or by using a QBank-provided installation package (ZIP file).

Option 1: Install from the Chrome Web Store

  1. Open Google Chrome
     Make sure you’re connected to the internet.

  2. Visit the Chrome Web Store
     👉 Click here to open the QBank Connector in Chrome Store

  3. Add to Chrome
     
    Click “Add to Chrome” and confirm the installation.

  4. Wait for installation to complete

    Chrome will automatically download and activate the extension.

  5. Find the Connector icon
    Once installed, you’ll see the QBank icon appear next to your address bar.

Option 2: Install from a QBank-provided link

If your organization has received the connector as a ZIP file from QBank Support, follow these simple steps:

  1. Download the ZIP file from the link provided by QBank.
  2. Open Google Chrome and go to:  
      chrome://extensions/
  3.  Activate Developer Mode

     Toggle Developer mode in the top right corner.

  4.  Unzip the downloaded file on your computer.
  5. Load the unpacked extension

     Click “Load unpacked”, and select the unzipped folder.

  6.  Confirm installation

     You’ll now see the QBank Connector added to your Chrome toolbar.

Getting Started

Once the connector is installed:

  1. Click the QBank icon in your browser toolbar.

  2.  Click the  Pin icon to keep it visible.

  3. Enter your QBank backend hostname, username, and password.

  4. Click Login to connect your browser to QBank.

 You’re all set! You can now access your QBank assets directly from the browser, without switching systems.
