This update focuses mainly on background work in preparation for exciting developments on the horizon, with a small update to our Consent feature.
October 2024 - This updated includes Releases 5.26 & 5.27
Enhancements done to the consent feature in QBank:
- Consent Expiration Enhancement: We’ve improved our Consent feature by allowing the selection of expiration date to be done by adding number of years, making it more flexible and user-friendly.
Improving our connectors:
- Browser connector impovements: The browser connector can now be detached from the window header, allowing it to function as a standalone application. This makes it more convenient to access while switching between tabs in your browser. You can detach it with this icon in the top right corner (see image below).
Work being done in the Background:
- Preparing for QPortal Launch: Our last two sprints have been heavily dedicated to setting up background infrastructure for QPortal, our upcoming product. If you missed Fredrik’s DAM Day presentation, where he and our UX Designer Kristian shared insights on QPortal’s background and vision, please reach out for a link to the recording!
- User Research for QBank 6.0: We’ve begun foundational work for QBank 6.0, the next evolution of our Core tool. As part of this initiative, we’ll be conducting user interviews throughout Q4 2024 and Q1 2025. If you’d like to join our user panel and provide input on this next version, contact your account manager.

We have also done some general bug fixes
We have addressed several issues reported by our users to improve the system's reliability:
- QD-5818: Resolved an issue allowing users with only view/download permissions to upload new versions of assets.
- QD-5817: Fixed a problem with free text search that led to unexpected results in specific scenarios.
- QD-5774: Corrected a bug in Site Utilities where child elements were not updated by the scheduled job.
Upcoming Features: What to Expect in our Future Releases
We are excited to share some of the upcoming features and enhancements we are working on:
- We’re enhancing the admin settings for our V.2 connectors (Browser Connector, Office Connector), providing greater flexibility. With this upgrade, you’ll be able to define specific content availability based on user roles in each connector.
- We are also focusing on enhancing the statistics feature, aiming to simplify the user interface for better comprehension and adding better filtering options. Additionally, we will introduce capabilities for exporting data, allowing you to easily integrate it with your business intelligence (BI) systems.
Stay tuned for more updates and enhancements as we continue to improve QBank, ensuring it remains the go-to solution for digital asset management.
