How to edit metadata for multiple assets

QBank has a powerful feature that allows you to perform batch updating on multiple assets at the same time. .

To edit metadata for multiple assets at once, select the assets you want to update and click the Edit button. Instead of going to the metadata editing view for a single asset, a Multiple Edit dialog will appear:

By default, Append mode is selected, which adds new metadata to the existing field content without overwriting it. You may also choose "Overwrite", "Remove" or "Clear field". Overwrite replaces any existing metadata with the new value. Remove deletes specific existing metadata values. Clear field empties the entire metadata field.

How to edit metadata for multiple assets in QBank

Edit metadata for a subset of selected assets

While working in the Multiple Edit dialog, you can update metadata for a subset of the selected assets — all without leaving the dialog.

For example, if multiple assets share similar metadata, you can update most of them at once. If some assets need different values, deselect those assets from the selection list — the changes will only apply to the assets that remain selected.

After applying the update, select the remaining assets and edit their metadata separately — all within the same dialog.

This workflow lets you efficiently handle metadata variations across different assets without restarting the editing process.
